Register for Bellevue Schools Foundation’s “Spring For Schools”

The vision of the Bellevue School District (BSD) is to affirm and inspire each and every student to learn and thrive as creators of their future world. It is a big vision, and state and local tax dollars aren’t enough to achieve it. The Bellevue Schools Foundation’s generous donors bridge the funding gap.

Please join us at the Spring for Schools fundraising event on Friday, April 30th starting at 11:45am, to hear how the Bellevue Schools Foundation’s Computer Science & Equity Initiative is challenging our students to think critically, develop growth mindsets, show perseverance and practice skills that will allow them to thrive in an ever-changing world. Unlike most school districts in the nation, BSD starts teaching computer science in the early grades, before students develop pre-conceived ideas about who can be good at computer science. The Computer Science & Equity Initiative is grounded in equity and access and is disrupting the trajectory of girls and black and brown students in STEM. Computer science isn’t just about learning code. It’s about inspiring students to fuel their imagination and use critical thinking, logic, and design to express their ideas.  Watch the video below to see the amazing things our first graders are doing with the coding app, Scratch Jr.

Mark your calendar for Friday, April 30. The pre-show begins at 11:45am. Come and listen to the creators of our future world. In your heart, you will know that when their time comes, they will be ready to lead positive local and global change.
