On May 20, runners from theĀ Sri Chinmoy Oneness Home Peace RunĀ spoke to students about their mission of spreading peace around the globe, performed their peace song and joined students for a few laps around the track with the peace torch.Ā Special thanksĀ to Rupasi Young for including Cherry Crest Elementary on their route for the first time ever!

Congratulations to 5thĀ graders Ender and Parker in Ms. Hemkerās class who both completed a marathon (26.2 miles) and were awarded certificates by Mrs. Stedman in class.Ā Running Club is a free, optional club available to students during lunch recess every day except Wednesday.Ā

During the week of June 6-10, Cherry Crest students and staff are invited to show their school spirit and dress according to daily themes:

ā¢ Monday š©³ Dress up or Dress Down Day: You can either come in your super comfy PJs or wear your fancy clothes
ā¢ Tuesday š© Crazy Head Day: Come to school wearing your most creative hairstyle, hat, headwrap or decorated mask!
ā¢ Wednesday š“ Charger Pride: Wear Charger Spirit Gear and/or school colors (red/white/black combination)
ā¢ Thursday š Rainbow Day: A different color for each grade level: K ā Red, 1 ā Yellow, 2 ā Blue, 3 ā Orange, 4 ā Purple, 5, ā Green
ā¢ FridayĀ š Sportswear Day: Don your fastest sneakers and wear your blue Walkathon shirt to enjoy Field Day!

After two years of virtual field day activities, students are eager to participate in all the outdoor games and activities during this fun-filled all-school end-of-year event.
|
It takes close to 100 volunteers before, during, and after this event to make Field Day run smoothly! Please sign up at http://t.ly/Pnoj to volunteer and help us make this end of year event fun for all.

Per BSD policy all volunteers must be approved volunteers (with background checks from within the past three years. See https://bsd405.org/get-involved/volunteer/ for details). Because this is a school-day activity, siblings who are not Cherry Crest students may not attend.

PSLA offers 4 weeks of half-day (9am-1pm) summer camp from June 27th to July 22nd for students entering 3rd, 4th, or 5th grades in the 2022-2023 school year.
|
PSLA offers a wide variety of themes, ranging from theatre to STEM to Olympics, and everything in between. We have designed this camp to be 100% outdoor and fun for everyone. This is PSLAās third year, and we are extremely grateful to be able to serve the Cherry Crest community.

Camp Kindness Counts and East Shore Unitarian Church invite you to a full-day, in-person Summer Camp: June 27 ā July 1, 2022!
|
East Shore Unitarian Church teaches the wisdom of world religions and helps kids to create justice and peace in the world. Camp Kindness Counts believes in the power of kindness to build a happier healthier world and together, we imagine a world of empowered kids bringing their voices and visions for the greater good of our world!

Please consider joining us for an in-person camp this summer. Children will learn through projects, games, exercises, and reflection!
