Even with all the additional chaos 2021 has presented us, there is still so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Weād even argue that one of the greatest gifts this challenging year has given us was a new perspective on the things weāve been taking for granted all this time! A new perspective on just how grateful we are for the simplest of things. For this the PTSA would like to thank our comm(UNITY) for supporting each other and our school in so many ways.

Thank you to our school professionals for their commitment every day to the students of Cherry Crest, for your dedication to education and organizational excellence in these difficult times and for striving to meet expectations, professionalism and cooperation. Also, I would like to thank our Cherry Crest families for staying connected and supporting studentsā education through both in-person and virtual settings. Iām thankful for you showing your appreciation to our teachers, GSAs, and all our school staff.

Lunch with Principal Mr. Steere! Book selected by librarian Ms. Lux! These are some of the exciting prizes students can win by participating in the Read-a-thon starting Wednesday November 24th.
|

The Read-a-thon is the first major Cherry Crest PTSA fundraiser of the school year. Students set reading goals, raise donations, read from November 24th to 28th (Thanksgiving break), and win exciting prizes! The details:
|
- Read-a-thon kicks off with an all-school Pajama Day on Wednesday November 24th: send your kids to school in their PJs!
- Read between November 24th ā 28th
- Reading minutes and donations will be due Friday December 3rd.
- Winners will be announced and prizes distributed mid-December.

Each month one grade level of Cherry Crest families shows appreciation for our outstanding educators by providing food and beverages for all teachers and staff. Most items can be sent in with your student to be dropped off in the Main Office.
|

The current Executive Committee of the PTSA seeks individuals to form a Nominating Committee. The to fill open Executive Committee positions for the 2022-2023 school year. This limited commitment takes place in January and involves attending 2-3 meetings.
|
An ideal Nominating Committee member is:
|
ā¢ Someone with connections to many different families within our school across grades.
ā¢ Comfortable reaching out to other parents for conversation.
ā¢ Able to meet with other members of the nominating committee (in person or via Microsoft Teams).
|

Cherry Crest PTSA plans to host a virtual parent education night to support parents. Help us target the topic most relevant to you and your family by rating your interests by filling in this form.

Cherry Crest Teachers through the PTSA would like to ask any parents interested in volunteering in the classrooms to please fillĀ in the Classroom Volunteer Form.
|
Please fill in this form if you'd like to volunteer for regular classroom opportunities or plan to volunteer for field trips or special events.
|
|
|

Students are using many school-supplied disposable masks. Please remember to send your child to school with a mask every day and include a spare in your childās backpack.
|
Please also consider donating a box of disposable childrenās masks to your classroom and/or the front office. Thank you for supporting the health of our community!

Do you recognize any of your belongings in this photo? With the return to in person-school, students are leaving behind many of their items. Please remind your children to check the lost and found near the entrance of the school. Thank you!

Are you looking to volunteer at Cherry Crest in-person? At home? Mrs. Lux (school librarian) has both opportunities available!
|
If you have NOT volunteered in the Cherry Crest library, a 30 minute training session is provided where you will learn policies, check-in/check-out computer system, etc.
|
And congratulations to the six grade-level winners of āThe Great Pumpkin Book/Characterā contest promoted during library class!

With the holidays approaching, remember that Bellevue School District allows each student 5 pre-arranged absences (PRA) per year. These are excused absences to use for a travel day, a sport or dance competition or longer trip.
|
If your child will only be missing one or two days, please email cherrycrestattendance@bsd405.org.
|
If your child will be missing 3 or more days, please submit a pre-arranged absence form at least 2 weeks prior to your trip.
|
