On June 9, our school community came together for one of the most heartwarming traditions of the year—our Annual Volunteer Tea. This special event is dedicated to celebrating the many parents, caregivers, and community members who generously give their time, talents, and energy to support our students, teachers, and school throughout the year. The morning was filled with gratitude, connection, and celebration. Volunteers enjoyed coffee, tea, breakfast treats, and the opportunity to mingle with one another while creating beautiful flower arrangements. The thoughtful event, organized by our school staff, was a wonderful way to give back and say thank you to the countless volunteers who help make our school such a special place. One of the highlights of the morning was the presentation of the Golden Acorn Awards, recognizing volunteers who have gone above and beyond in service to our school community. These individuals have made meaningful contributions in multiple areas, consistently stepped up whenever help was needed, and demonstrated an unwavering commitment to supporting our students and school. This year’s Golden Acorn recipients were: Mozhgan Torabifard Lynette Zhong Erika Dowd Jia Yan Adding to the surprise and excitement, the recipients’ families were secretly invited to attend and were there to celebrate alongside them as they received their awards. It was a touching moment that made the recognition even more meaningful. Perhaps the most unforgettable part of the morning was the volunteer parade through the school. Accompanied by music, volunteers walked through the halls while students lined the route holding handmade signs, cheering, waving, and expressing their appreciation. The joy and excitement on everyone’s faces made it a true feel-good moment and a powerful reminder of the impact volunteers have on our school community. The Annual Volunteer Tea is more than just a celebration—it’s a chance to pause and recognize the incredible partnership between families, staff, and students that helps our school thrive. If you have never attended before, we highly encourage you to join us next year. It is a wonderful opportunity to connect with others, feel appreciated, and experience firsthand the gratitude of our students. As many attendees shared afterward, it truly fills your cup.
