Important Vaccine Related Information

Two important articles have come out recently about facilitating access to vaccines in the area:

  •  Washington State’s official COVID-19 Response site has posted an article about the availability of Free and Discounted Rides to Vaccine Sites. The article elaborates on how the Vaccine Action Command and Coordination System (VACCS) Center has partnered with Lyft, Uber, United Way Worldwide, Washington 211 and Sea Mar Community Health Centers to provide access to free and discounted rides to vaccine appointments for people with transportation challenges.
  • Efforts are underway to help vaccinate the South Asian Population of King County.  There will be an upcoming mobile covid vaccination clinic on May 16th at the Sikh Center of Seattle in Bothell. Children 12-15 are also eligible. More details are available in the flier below.

COVID Relief Opportunities for India

Recognizing that families in our Cherry Crest Comm(Unity) may be looking for ways to help the relief cause in India, a fellow 3rd grade parent is offering a way for you to help. Please read her message to the community below:

COVID is spreading like wildfire in India. The increase in the number of cases has soared 46% over two weeks, according to the New York Times, while deaths are up 120%. India needs help, now. I urge the Cherry Crest Community to come together in this critical time and help me raise funds to send oxygen to India. I’m working directly with a volunteer team of doctors in India who are helping me identify rural areas that are not visible on the government distribution list. Why? Because I was born and raised in a rural county and I know those rural counties need our help! To learn more, please visit our Go Fund Me page: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-India-Breathe-now
