We are finding that dismissal is taking longer than normal for parents driving their children to and from school. With hybrid students across all grades returning to the Cherry Crest building, we strongly encourage all eligible students to take the school bus! PTSA General Meeting is Tuesday, May 11, sign on at 6:45pm

Please join us at our Cherry Crest PTSA General Membership meeting, tonight, May 11th, at 6:45pm via Microsoft Teams.

We would love for all families and community members to participate and you don’t need to be a PTSA member to attend.

At this last meeting of the year, we will be reviewing and voting on next year’s budget as well as discussing what things are important to you for the PTSA to consider implementing next year.

News from the National PTA Legislative Conference March 9-11, 2021

This year’s National PTA Legislative Conference (LegCon) was held virtually on March 9-11, 2021. The purpose of the conference is to gather PTA members from across the nation to network with fellow PTA advocates, meet with your members of Congress, hear PTA advocacy success stories and learn how to shape public policy on Capitol Hill and at home. Cherry Crest PTSA’s Legislative Chair attended and met virtually with Congressional Staff from the Offices of Senator Patty Murray, Senator Maria Cantwell and Representative Adam Smith.

First Grade and Kindergarten Return Next Week

The Building Safety and Health Conditions Review Team for Cherry Crest met on February 24, 2021 to conduct a review of health and safety conditions both in the building and in the larger community in order to determine whether or not to expand existing in-person services by another grade-band level at this time. As a result of our meeting, we voted to start in-person services for 1st grade this Monday, March 1st and for Kindergarten this Thursday, March 4.

BSD Family Engagement Survey

The Bellevue School District is conducting a survey on family engagement in order to strengthen relationships between schools and families. Creating meaningful partnerships with parents helps students succeed both academically and socially. When families engage, student attitudes and behavior are more positive, attendance is better, there are more opportunities to honor diverse cultural backgrounds, and open communication allows us to learn from each other.
