Spirit Week is June 6-10 ending with Field Day!

During the week of June 6-10, Cherry Crest students and staff are invited to show their school spirit and dress according to daily themes:

• Monday 🩳 Dress up or Dress Down Day: You can either come in your super comfy PJs or wear your fancy clothes
• Tuesday 🎩 Crazy Head Day: Come to school wearing your most creative hairstyle, hat, headwrap or decorated mask!
• Wednesday 🔴 Charger Pride: Wear Charger Spirit Gear and/or school colors (red/white/black combination)
• Thursday 🌈 Rainbow Day: A different color for each grade level: K – Red, 1 – Yellow, 2 – Blue, 3 – Orange, 4 – Purple, 5, – Green
• Friday 👕 Sportswear Day: Don your fastest sneakers and wear your blue Walkathon shirt to enjoy Field Day!

Running Club: Peace Torch Visit and Marathon Accomplishments

On May 20, runners from the Sri Chinmoy Oneness Home Peace Run spoke to students about their mission of spreading peace around the globe, performed their peace song and joined students for a few laps around the track with the peace torch.  Special thanks to Rupasi Young for including Cherry Crest Elementary on their route for the first time ever!

Congratulations to 5th graders Ender and Parker in Ms. Hemker’s class who both completed a marathon (26.2 miles) and were awarded certificates by Mrs. Stedman in class. Running Club is a free, optional club available to students during lunch recess every day except Wednesday.

Congratulations, 2022 Golden Acorn Award Recipients!

Each year, the PTSA presents Golden Acorn Awards to volunteers who have given outstanding service to the Cherry Crest Comm(UNITY). 

Awards were presented at the Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast on Friday, May 20th, graciously hosted by Cherry Crest Faculty & Staff to honor and thank all our school volunteers.

ArtSci Fine Arts + Academic Camps

ArtSci offers weekly summer camps for children ages 8-10 in Bellevue. Workshop themes include photography, musical theater, short film creation, dance workshops and more. Register by May 30th.

Community-Based Summer Camp on Cherry Crest Field

PSLA offers 4 weeks of half-day (9am-1pm) summer camp from June 27th to July 22nd for students entering 3rd, 4th, or 5th grades in the 2022-2023 school year.

PSLA offers a wide variety of themes, ranging from theatre to STEM to Olympics, and everything in between. We have designed this camp to be 100% outdoor and fun for everyone. This is PSLA’s third year, and we are extremely grateful to be able to serve the Cherry Crest community.

As a small token of our appreciation, the Cherry Crest Staff invites our amazing Cherry Crest Comm(UNITY) volunteers to join us for a Volunteer Appreciation Coffee and Awards Ceremony in the café on Friday, May 20th at 8:15am

Whether you have helped in the classroom, library, lunchroom, playfield or on a field trip, we want to thank you!  Our program includes personalized messages of thanks from classroom staff, the presentation of the PTSA Golden Acorn Award and an opportunity for volunteers to provide input for your hopes, dreams and desires for family engagement in 2022/23.

Camp Kindness Counts: Art Summer Camp Open for Registration

Camp Kindness Counts and East Shore Unitarian Church invite you to a full-day, in-person Summer Camp: June 27 – July 1, 2022!

East Shore Unitarian Church teaches the wisdom of world religions and helps kids to create justice and peace in the world. Camp Kindness Counts believes in the power of kindness to build a happier healthier world and together, we imagine a world of empowered kids bringing their voices and visions for the greater good of our world!

Global Peace Run Visits Cherry Crest on Friday, May 20th

The Cherry Crest Running Club is excited to welcome members of the Sri Chinmoy Oneness Home Peace Run on Friday, May 20th during lunch recess.

This global torch relay has teams running through over 100 countries every two years with a simple goal – “to create a feeling of goodwill among peoples of all nations.” Students will hear the runners’ message of peace and can join them for a few laps around the school track.
