Take the Bus!

We are finding that dismissal is taking longer than normal for parents driving their children to and from school. With hybrid students across all grades returning to the Cherry Crest building, we strongly encourage all eligible students to take the school bus! Visit the Cherry Crest website for details about having your child safely and efficiently travel to/from Cherry Crest on the bus.

District Offers School Bus Route Tracking with Edulog App

The Bellevue School District is providing the Edulog Parent Portal smart phone app to deliver information about your student’s school bus ride. It allows you to access designated bus stop times and locations of your student’s school bus.

In Person Learning Updates from Principal Steere

On March 11 Principal Steere recorded a video for families with information and updates related to in person learning at Cherry Crest elementary. Watch the video for:

• Status of in-person learning; including information about car pickup, bus service and the brand new Parent Portal Bus App
• Updates on planning for 3rd–5th grade return
• Information about the Safety and Health Conditions Review Team at Cherry Crest

In person learning expansion – Safety and Health Conditions Review Team

School and district leaders have begun work on plans to expand in-person services for third through fifth grade students.  This includes resurveying family choices for hybrid or virtual learning last summer. We don’t yet have firm dates for return but do know that they will follow a similar half day AM/PM model as primary grades.  Our safety team meets weekly to review relevant local COVID data and building safety readiness.

Read more about the role of the Safety and Health Conditions Review Team and their role in expansion of in person services at Cherry Crest.

New Location for In-Person Tech Center

As of Monday, February 8th, there is a new location for in-person tech support for school equipment issues that are difficult to resolve via email or phone. No appointment is necessary and curbside pickup/exchange is available.

New Virtual Clubs at Cherry Crest

Cherry Crest Elementary is starting several clubs to help our students stay connected to our school community, including a Gardening Club, Storyteller’s Club, Jump Rope Club, and a Lunch Bunch Club. Find more details about how to join each club and when they meet on the PTSA website.

An Update on Back To Buildings Plan

On Tuesday, January 26th, Superintendent Dr. Ivan Duran provided more details on the Bellevue School District’s “Back to Buildings Plan”. In particular, hybrid learners in Kindergarten, First and Second grades will be returning to buildings according to a specific schedule outlined in the letter. Please read Dr. Duran’s letter for more information.

Travel Advisory

In compliance with Governor Inslee’s Travel Advisory (“Washingtonians are encouraged to stay home or in their region and avoid nonessential travel to other states or countries.”), the Bellevue School District reminds families that all students and staff participating in in-person learning, services, or activities who have traveled out of state, need to self-quarantine at home for 14-days after returning from their travels before coming back in person.
