Children’s disposable masks needed!

Students are using a large quantity of disposable masks supplied by the school.  Please remember to send your child to school with a mask every day and include a spare in your child’s backpack.  Please also consider donating a box of disposable children’s masks to your classroom and/or the front office.  Thank you for supporting the health of our community!

Reusable Utensil Program Starting This Week!

Starting Thursday January 27, we are switching to reusable utensils in the cafeteria, through a grant from Department of Ecology and City of Bellevue!

We estimate this will save more than 47,000 disposable plastic utensils from the landfill in one school year.

If you see any of these new school utensils at home please send them back to school so they can stay in the cycle. Click through to the PTSA web site for all the details!

Library Updates and Volunteer training

If you are interested in becoming a library volunteer, Mrs. Lux is offering more training sessions this month.

THANK YOU so much for the current library volunteers who have been coming in to help check-in books, shelve books and help during class checkout time.

It makes such a world of difference for our librarian to be able to focus on students: helping them find books, making suggestions and answering questions they have during class time without tying up the line.

Special Thanks to Cherry Crest Staff and Friends for Snow Removal

Going on Vacation? Submit the Pre-arranged absences form

Going on Vacation? It is expected that families will schedule their vacations and activities to coincide with the school calendar. We understand that some absences cannot be rescheduled or prevented from overlapping with school. Nonetheless, absences for vacations, sports tournaments, dance competitions, family travel, trips of a lifetime, etc. must be prearranged and approved to be considered excused under district policies (BSD Policy 3122, Procedure 3122P https://bit.ly/3dnFZzI).

You can download a copy of the prearranged absence form directly from our school’s website: https://bsd405.org/cherrycrest/report-an-absence/ or pick up a copy in the main office. We ask that you submit the form at least 2 weeks in advance to allow time for review by the teacher, and approval from the Assistant Principal. Email cherrycrestattendance@bsd405.org with any questions.
