Spelling Bee Finals Moved to February 12th

Due to recent inclement weather and the forecast of snow for the evening of February 5th, the PTSA has decided to postpone the Spelling Bee finals. The finals will now be held on Wednesday, February 12th, our originally scheduled backup date.

Attention 2nd Grade Families! March is your month for Staff Appreciation!

What is Staff Appreciation? Each year Cherry Crest families show their appreciation for our outstanding educators by volunteering to provide food, beverages, and paper products throughout the school year to help restock the staff room and encourage our teachers with a monthly breakfast. Each Grade is assigned one month to focus their efforts… March is your month! Sign-up to bring items here.

2025 Cherry Crest Variety Show Talent Submission

🎭 Calling All Cherry Crest Students!  It’s time to rise and shine for this year’s Cherry Crest Variety Show! Showcase your singing, dancing, gymnastics, magic tricks, or any special talent on stage!

 

Submit your talent by Fri, Feb 14th @ 8 PM PST here.
Make sure to review the guidelines and submit your audition video on time!

December Mini Holiday Book Fair and Art Show

Our annual PaperPie Book Fair (formerly Usborne Books & More) is coming to the Cherry Crest Library this week!

When: Tuesday Dec. 5th – Thursday 8th.

Hours: Open for shopping at lunch recess and afterschool each day (exact hours TBD) plus family night on Tuesday.

Library Contest Winners

Congratulations! There were over 80 submissions to the Cherry Crest Library’s Annual Pumpkin Book Character/Book Cover Contest. Students in grades K-5 submitted paper pumpkins drawn with their favorite book and/or book character(s) represented on them using pencil, crayon, pen, water color, oil pastels, collages, etc. We have some creative and artistic Chargers! It was a difficult decision.

Get Ready for an Exciting G5 Promotion Event

5th Grade parents, please join us to celebrate all 5th graders! The event will take place on Wednesday, June 21, 8:30 – 9:45 AM.
8:30-9:20 am: Memorable Ceremony in the Café and Gym
9:20-9:45 am: Social in the Undercover Area
9:45 am: Magic show, outdoor games, pizza lunch (only for students and volunteers)

New Family Information Night

Do you know a new family joining Cherry Crest Elementary this fall? All new families are welcome to join Mr. Steere and Mrs. Stedman for an informative night about all things Cherry Crest on Wednesday June 14th from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Learn about arrivals, dismissals, bus transportation, after school care and more. Take a self-guided tour of the school and get signed up for Cub Scouts or Girl Scouts. Focus Day 2025

 

Join students and PTA leaders across the state for Focus Day on Monday, February 17, 2025, in Olympia. Come advocate to close the funding gaps and ensure financial stability for schools and other vital issues that impact students around the state! All WSPTA members are welcome. Bring your children to join in the fun! Events run from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM.

Our Bellevue PTSA Council has set up meetings with legislators from Districts 41 & 48. We need your stories, we need your voice, we need you! Please email advocacy@bellevueptsacouncil.com if you plan to attend so we can coordinate meetings. More info and registration here.

Parent Education Classes from Kindering

Kindering offers a variety of Parent Education classes and 1:1 coaching and support aimed at giving parents and caregivers confidence and useful strategies as they navigate their children’s early years. January’s offerings are Social and Emotion Coaching with Young Children on 1/28 @ 6:30-8:00pm via Zoom; and Why the First 2000 Days Matter: A Look Inside the Brain on 1/30 @ 6-7pm via Zoom.
