Spring Fundraiser 2021


Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s fundraiser. We raised over $20,000 (and counting!) to sustain beloved community-building programs and supply much-needed resources that allow our teachers to provide the best possible academics and social-emotional support to our young learners.

Every dollar that you contributed in this campaign will go towards enhancing student experiences and hiring General School Assistants (GSAs).

What are the Dates of this Fundraiser?

Our campaign runs during the two week period prior to Spring Break, March 29th – April 9th.

How is my Donation Used?

100% of the proceeds raised from the Spring Fundraiser go towards the students at Cherry Crest – supporting important PTSA-sponsored programs like Curriculum Enhancement and General School Assistants (extra support in the classroom!!) Since September, GSAs have been joining in on Teams lessons, running many of the small-group learning sessions, and helping our teachers with a variety of classroom content management, grading and other administrative tasks to help our online classes run smoothly, and now many are back in the building! But don’t take our word for how impactful they are to our school – meet them here!

How Much Should I Give?

We are currently facing a $100,000 shortfall for funding programs for the 2021-2022 school year. The good news is that if each of our 448 families at Cherry Crest donated $250, we would immediately reach our goal. Of course, that is just a math equation – our goal is to reach 100% participation regardless of the amount. So, please consider participating at any amount that you can. Every single donation helps!

Donations are tax deductible and eligible for corporate matching so please check with your employer to see if they will match your donations. Matching funds are not factored into prize eligibility

Are there Prizes?

There are three prize categories based on group participation that give right back to the students in our school:

  • Top Fundraising Class: A curriculum enhancement event brought to you by Mad Science
  • Top Participation Class: A curriculum enhancement event brought to you by Mad Science
  • 80% Family Participation: A school-wide virtual magic show performed by America’s Got Talent Jay Mattioli!

There are also two categories of prizes for individual donations:

  • $350-$499*: All donors giving at this level will have the option to have a personalized message / shout-out in one of our Charger Charter Newsletters.
  • $500 and Above*: All donors giving at this level will have the option to have  a personalized message posted on the electronic Reader Board at the front of the school on a date on (or near) a date of their choice.

*Note that both these prizes are subject to a length limit and approval by the PTSA communications team.

When will Winners be Announced?

Our campaign runs during the two weeks prior to Spring Break, March 29th – April 9th. Winners will be announced once everyone is back in school, the week of April 19th.
