Brick & Mortar Books presents AMAZING children’s book authors for a FREE day of books and fun! Scheduled authors include: Vikram Madan (Bobo and Pup Pup author who visited Cherry Crest!!), Elie Peterson (How to Hug a Pufferfish author who visited Cherry Crest!!), Dan Gemeinhart (The Honest Truth author who visited Cherry Crest!!), Kazu Kibuishi (Amulet series author and who has visited Cherry Crest!!), Ben Clanton (Narwhal and Jelly series author and who has visited Cherry Crest!!), Donna Barba Higuera (The Last Cuentista and Lupe Wong Won’t Dance author – who won the Newbery award!!), Liz Wong (I am Not a Penguin author), and many more!

Celebrate International Dot Day – Friday, September 15 | 10:00 AM PT

Sign up to join New York Times best-selling author and illustrator of The Dot, Peter Reynolds, and his twin brother Paul Reynolds who will challenge students to believe in themselves and find the courage to make their mark. This year’s event will be a very special 20th anniversary celebration of The Dot book and a peek at the new Dot Dot Dot musical!

Student and Family Directory

The 2023-24 Student and Family Directory will be updated shortly after classroom placement has been completed. Using BSD’s ParentVue (be sure to “opt in” to listing your student (under Release of Information About Your Student, uncheck “By checking this box, I do not give permission to release my student’s directory information).

Only families listed will be able to login to the directory and view class lists.

Staff Appreciation Throughout the Year

Each year Cherry Crest families show their appreciation for our outstanding educators by volunteering to provide food, beverages and paper products throughout the school year to stock the staff room as well as encourage teachers and staff with periodic breakfasts. Each Grade is assigned one month to focus their efforts and many items can be delivered by your student.

Welcome to the Charger Chatter

Welcome to the first edition of the Charger Chatter newsletter for this school year! The Cherry Crest PTSA “Charger Chatter” newsletter is produced every other Tuesday during the school year by parent volunteers.

Look to the Chatter for news about PTSA-sponsored activities for students such as Clubs and Curriculum Enhancement and for announcements of PTSA-sponsored events such as the Walkathon, Grade-level Potlucks, Spelling Bee, Family Engineering Night, Festival of Cultures, Readathon and more!

You can also find links to Bellevue School District Information, a calendar with school and PTSA important dates, information about after-school enrichment opportunities, athletic activities, and community activities for families and children.

Registering Girl Scouts from K through 5th grade

Our Cherry Crest Girl Scout Troop is excited to welcome new members from grades K-7.  Girl Scouts gain valuable skills while learning confidence, important values, and social skills. We have an amazing multilevel troop who goes camping, does steam activities, and builds sisterhood and community.
Meetings – Twice per month Mondays from 6:15 to 7:30 (often 2nd and 4th Mondays but moved occasionally to avoid holidays) at Cherry Crest Elementary School.

On-Site After School Enrichment Classes

Cherry Crest will be offering a number of After School Classes and Clubs during the year, often in 6-8 week sessions. This year the clubs, dates, and times are not yet finalized due to issues related to space and building scheduling. In the past these clubs have included Magic, Drama, Clay Animation, Lego, Flag Football, and Spanish. It is unknown what clubs will be offered this year.

When these clubs are finalized, we will advertise sign-ups on the website as well as in the Chatter.

Join the Cherry Crest PTSA

We invite you to join our Cherry Crest PTSA and become an integral part of our vibrant school community. Your involvement in PTSA allows you to actively participate in your child’s education and helps us create a nurturing and enriching learning environment for all students. By joining PTSA, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with other parents, teachers, and students, share valuable insights, and most importantly cast a vote in membership meetings and shape the success of our school. In addition, you get awesome discounts like airport parking, Great Wolf Lodge and many more. First Day of School Coffee

The first day of school is an exciting day for us all.  Come join your fellow nervous/excited adults at the Cherry Crest entrance after you drop off your kids. Meet other families, learn about the PTSA and the Cherry Crest Comm(UNITY). New and returning families are welcome and encouraged to come stop by for any amount of time you have available.

First day coffee for 1st-5th grade:  September 5th from 8:10-9 am

First day of school coffee for Kindergartners:  September 8th from 8:10 -9 am.

Join Cub Scouts

Interested in camping, hiking, building Pinewood Derby cars and launching rockets? The Cherry Crest Cub Scouts (Pack 726) are kicking off with the new school year.
